Shawn Mynar // Wellness Women.

Do you ever have that moment when you are tired of your own shit?

Like… ENOUGH ALREADY, MADISON.

Yeah, I had that moment last week.

After a few inspiring conversations + redirections for what I am doing, something in me just snapped. But not in the bad snappin’, murderin’ people kinda way. No, no, this is the good kind. The kind that once the lightbulb moment turns on, you just can’t turn your brain off.

Let’s just say the light bulb has been blazing over here and I haven’t gotten much sleep the last few days.

Between chats + coffee dates, I realized the only thing holding me back from going after what I want for myself and N&N is ….. MYSELF.

What the what?!

Yeah, just when you think you get into the entrepreneur life, its going to be rainbows and smiles because you can meet for coffee + lunch whenever and do hot yoga with your besties at 10am, you get blindsided by the fact that this life often comes with a big case of analysis paralysis. SO many ideas you don’t know where to start. SO much fear of the “shoulds”, the “coulds”, and the “woulds”… that you get stuck in the comparison trap because you are just watching everyone else doing the damn thing and living the dream.

But I think I was using that as an excuse for what I was really afraid of: caring what people thought about me by putting myself out there. #noonecares #letitgomadison

It’s time.

Time to get out of my own way.

So with that being said, I’m ramping up the blog train y’all. Time to give it 110%, because I haven’t. And if I do, who knows what will happen? Maybe nothing exciting, but at least I can know I gave it my best effort instead of half-assing out of fear like I have in the past.

If you are feeling like you aren’t living the life you’d hope or you are hesitant of the dreams you want to pursue because of what other people might whisper about you behind your back, this is your kick in the pants, lovingly from me to you, to just do it. Chase it. Dream it. Write it. Sing it. Chant it.

In the words of Shia, JUST DO IT.

It’s time to get out of your own way, girlfran.

Now, before you go and conquer the world, I want to introduce you to this week’s Wellness Woman, Shawn Mynar.

I am a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, Restorative Wellness Specialist, and Certified Personal Trainer, and have an online holistic health practice working both 1:1 with clients and teaching online group classes. I love chocolate, hip-hop dancing, the mountains, cooking random meals, seeing the world, and just life in general. I’m scared of heights, spiders, and running out of chocolate.

WHAT TYPE OF MOVEMENT BRINGS YOU JOY?

SHARE A BIT ABOUT YOUR PERSONAL HEALTH JOURNEY:

My first autoimmune diagnosis came at 2009 where I was told I would be taking 9 pills per day, at
minimum, for the rest of my life. After a few years of this, I realized this wasn’t OK with me and began researching nutrition approaches to healing autoimmune disease. The next day I transitioned to a paleo diet and never looked back.

Since then, I have had many up’s and down’s with my health including biotoxin illness from toxic mold exposure, adrenal fatigue, leptin resistance, amenorrhea, leaky gut, my second autoimmune disease – Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, but have finally reached a place of true health and happiness using both dietary and lifestyle changes.

Throughout this health journey I have been on, my biggest desire and passion has always been to help others get through similar situations. This is why I am also currently living my dream of being a holistic nutritionist!

IF YOU ARE IN THE HEALTH REALM, DO YOU HAVE A PRACTICE? IF SO, WHAT DO YOU SPECIALIZE IN?

I specialize in helping women uncover and heal their root cause health issues using functional lab testing and a holistic approach! I also love teaching women about the ketogenic diet and it’s ability to heal the body and hormones.

WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO CONVEY TO OTHER WOMEN SEEKING OPTIMAL HEALTH?

That it CAN and WILL happen! There are too many women just dealing with their symptoms and thinking it’s hopeless. Take the initiative to keep digging to find the root cause “WHY” and you will be able to heal once and for all!

IF YOU COULD GIVE ONE TIP TO SOMEONE JUST STARTING OUT ON THEIR HEALTH JOURNEY, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

Listen to your body and be your own health advocate. If you feel like their is something else going on, there probably is, even if your doctor or practitioner is saying otherwise. Don’t let anyone brush off your concerns.

SHARE YOUR FAVORITE QUOTE OR SOURCE OF INSPIRATION.

PODCAST: Keto For Women Show

IF YOU COULD PICK TWO WORDS TO REPRESENT YOUR PERSONAL MANTRA, WHAT WOULD THEY BE AND WHY?

LET GO. These have been my 2 words for a few years now, ever since realizing that so many of my health issue were rooted in stress. I am a chronic overthinker and worrier and I’ve worked really hard the past few years to stay in the present moment. When I do that, my health and happiness soars. LET GO reminds of this when I need it.
