It’s the most wonderful tiiiiime of the year!
I love October you guys. Ok, ok Fall. I love Fall.
I used to try and rush the seasons, wishing they would move along or hurry the eff up, but I’m learning that embracing those in between random 80 degree days are just as significant when I’m trying to actively live a present life. But honestly, what more can you expect from a desert climate that changes it’s mind on the temperature like an angsty pre-teen selecting their first day of school outfit? #thankgodforuniforms
So, now that the best (and short-lived for West Texas) season of the year is here, I feel like I can officially start sharing more fall-inspired recipes with y’all!
And let’s be real, I wouldn’t be doing my #basicwhitegirl self any justice if I didn’t honor this recipe season without kicking it off with something pumpkin spice. So, you’re welcome.
Off to decorate for Halloween!
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 cup ice
- 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 1 tbs pumpkin puree
- 1/4 tsp pumpkin spice (more if you are a basic white girl!)
- pinch of cinnamon
- optional for garnish: raw pumpkin seeds + pinch of nutmeg
- Place all ingredients into a blender except for the raw pumpkin seeds + nutmeg. Once thoroughly blended, pour smoothie into a chilled glass or your favorite mason jar, top with raw pumpkin seeds + a pinch of nutmeg. Enjoy!
