Did you find a healthy treat to share? I think my Chocolate Cocoroons would also be a great hit if you dipped the bottoms in melted chocolate with a few drops of peppermint extract, and rolled in peppermints. #justsayin’ Can you tell I have mint chocolate on the brain? Yummmm…..!

Opt for grain-free alcohols + stay hydrated!

Let me shoot it to you straight. Alcohol is tasty poison. We don’t need it. We all know this. But let’s be real. We are all going to have a festive drink or two (or three… or four…) during the Christmas season, so, how can you best stave off the post-holiday hangover?

Avoiding alcohols made with grains, specifically corn + gluten-containing grains, would be your best bet. Instead of beer, choose a hard cider or a glass of champagne. Tequila, Vodka, Gin, Wine, Brandy are better choices, too.

Buyer beware: If you go the liquor route, just make sure you choose high-quality versions, because sometimes the cheap ones are cut with grain-alcohols!

Of course with drinking, you also need to stay hydrated and support your body the best you can.

Here are some ways to recover quickly:

  • Hydrate before. (All day, not just the hour before.)
  • Eat a balanced meal with good fats before going out.
  • Drink a glass of water between every beverage.
  • Take B Vitamins when you get home with a glass of water.
  • Drink ginger, dandelion or milk thistle tea before bed.
  • Make a lemon water with ACV in the morning!
