Weekly Workouts: July 16-22.

Hey y’all, how’s it going? I am sitting here writing you from my couch, feeling like I have a full body hangover from a 10+ hour day of kayaking on the river. It was so much fun, but I AM SO EFFING EXHAUSTED. Hubby caught some fish, I got my first ever Chaco tan, and we fought some brutal wind that equated to one of the most intense shoulder workouts I’ve experienced to date. Let’s just say that naps are definitely in the queue for this afternoon.

Before we get on to this week’s workout post, I have a couple of questions for you: Have you seen “What the Health?” and are you curious what my take is on it? I have had several of you message me about my thoughts, and so I am thinking about writing a review on it, or maybe an Instagram LIVE or something so we can talk about this together.

Food rules are almost a religion, and so of course, people get highly worked up over them. I feel it’s an important conversation we need to have before any of you go and radically change your diets from an emotionally charged headspace. So let’s chat, ok?

If that is something you’d be interested in, can you leave me a comment below and let me know?

And before I sign off with this post, I wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for all of your loving, supportive and resonating comments around my latest Instagram post. I used to participate in “before and afters” on #transformationtuesday like nobody’s business. I was so proud of my hard work, and the accountability that came with it, but slowly that motivation switched from a place of self-love to a place of self-loathing.

Worrying about every.single.little.piece of food that goes in our mouths or stressing about working out enough to “work off” the over-indulgences is not how we need to approach our health as a whole. And just because Body Acceptance is a buzzword right now, it doesn’t mean that its a free pass to just do or eat whatever the eff you want and not experience some consequences.

You are so much more than a transactional relationship of food + fitness, and by choosing to view + participate in those things from a place of abundance, I promise it will be so worth it in the long run.

You are doing the best you can, so give yourself a little grace in there, too. 🙂 Mmk? Mmk.
