You guys, I am so excited about this! For the last couple of months, I have been dreaming up ways to take this blog further + grow this community deeper. But I wanted to do it in a way that actually meant something, not just by creating gear or gift-y items that wouldn’t carry much individual meaning other than the fact that you chose to support my mission over here at N&N. (Which of course I would fully appreciate, but you get where I am going here…)
So, after months of thought, and back and forth with designers + screen printers, I am so proud to introduce you to the My Mantra Ampersand Tank!
Why the ampersand? Well, it’s in my logo, duh.
BUT I wanted it to mean more than just a cool looking symbol + a way to rep N&N.
About 6 months ago, I realized the ampersand is the unifying object that holds the two things together that matter most in my life.
NOURISH: nourishing my body, mind, soul + relationships through quality food, love, self-care, spiritual growth + connection.
&
NAMASTE: living a life that leads to spiritual peace (because #anxiety) as well as trying to love, walk with + inspire the people in my life (YOU GUYS!) to recognize that we all have a purpose + are a part of a greater Presence that connects us.
The ampersand holds together my personal mantra for life. And it wasn’t until long after switching my blog to N&N, on a long road trip drive home, that I realized the ampersand carried so much more purpose than I could have ever imagined.
We live our lives by a certain mantra. They define us, propel us forward, and bring us hope.
So, what is the mantra you live your life by?
Is it two words that:
…carry you through each day (especially the tough ones)?
…inspire you to become the person you want to be?
…bring you to the present moment anytime you get stuck in your head?
My hope is that the My Mantra Ampersand Tank can become a little reminder as an outward expression of your personal mantra in life.
From working out to going out, you can wear this tank anytime, anywhere. It is a ultra soft, flowy-fit tank that you can dress up or dress down, so get after it, girl! And if you prefer a tighter fit, you can knot it in the back like I did in my workout outfit!
When going through the design process, I wanted it to be classy + sophisticated, rather than just slapping the ampersand symbol on the front of a shirt. That’s where the expertise of my sweet friend Carrie of Pearly Gates Designs came into play! Carrie is an extremely talented watercolorist + graphic designer, and after handing over my vision of making the ampersand symbol more “soft, organic + free,” she brought it to life! Thanks Carrie!
And of course, I wanted to keep things in Texas as much as I could, so after making a connection through a mutual friend, I partnered up with JR and his team of Norman Roscoe, a small design + screen printing company based in Denton, TX. Each individual shirt is hand-printed with environmentally friendly, water-based ink.
What’s so special about water-based ink? Well, besides the fact that it is better all around, the ink ends up being super soft, almost embedded in the shirt, so you don’t even notice it! It’s much better than getting a stiff, sticky, plastic-y ink that isn’t near as comfortable to wear. #trustme
