12 Days of Holistic Holidays: Day 10.

How’d that plank go yesterday? Didn’t do it? Drop now and give me 20! Seconds, that is. Or bucks. I’ll take 2o bucks too.

Pump up the tunes.

As Buddy The Elf said, “The best way to spread Christmas cheer, is singing loud for all to hear!” Did anyone go caroling as a kid? I loved it, even though I was self-conscious. Do people still go caroling? If you do, call me. I want in.

Ok, whether you want to sing on the street corner for random strangers or not, you have to admit that music resonates with us on a deep level. I FIRMLY believe this to my core. Music is my heart song. If I can’t express my thoughts or emotions through words, it’s through harmonies + cadence.

Fun fact: I used to sing + play guitar. I wouldn’t say I was anything fabulous, but I loved it so much. Just for the pure enjoyment of expression. Note to self…I need to pick it up again.

Just like exercise, singing releases endorphins, which help boost our mood. Singing = Happiness. Makes sense to me!

Anyway, crank up the holiday tunes (or your favorite tunes) and get to singing! If it’s in the shower, even better.
